Videos on Acceptance Skills in Therapy

Growing up, when friends or family would say "there's nothing I can do... so why think about it?" I would always think, "what??" ... I just could not believe it. Like, they were lying, right? Just pushing the feelings down?
Honestly, tell me that a year ago, and I may have had the same reaction. I might have called you resilient (and believed it), but I would not understand how it is even possible.
Now, I realize that fighting reality is painful in itself and that it will only lead to more pain. Further, it just doesn't work. If a pink elephant pops into your room right now and you had to focus on something else, would it be easier to (1) try and try to ignore it or (2) recognize that it is there, process it, and move on? Hint: it's #2.
Below, I will share videos on the topic of acceptance for both adolescents and adults. Many videos will overlap in content, but each might be geared toward different ages and are different in length. Just an FYI, most of these videos pull concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Next is not a video for clients. Instead, it is a video about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including some skills it teaches. I know I have enjoyed learning about ACT, so I thought others might as well.
I hope these videos help even just one person with even just one client. I know learning about the value of acceptance has been helpful for me and my clients.
